I know it's a little late, but this is just to thank you Marie for coming to the beach with Neddy, Rog and me.
AND also thank you for bringing along tea and yummy cake and biscuits it was a welcome surprise!
Sometime towards the end of last week Marie agreed to come down to the beach with us braving a chilly March evening to give Neddy a feel of speed in deep sand. It was Neddy's first visit to the beach so I rode him a little bit to start giving him a canter round the sand gallop in the dunes.(It was all practice for Neddy's first competition at St. Mars D'outille which I knew ran partly in deep sand.)
Neddy as ever was typically all terrain and didn't even appear to notice we were cantering round in sand over our fetlocks. It was good for Rog too, he put a bit of effort into his work having Ned upsides to race against. After a few shattering laps of the dunes we took them for an amble up the beach, but Neddy being Neddy wanted just to canter more and more, even after an hour of work he was still looking for more and taking sprints off the downhill dunes on the way back to the trailer.
Marie was very sensible and wrapped up warm, I was stupid and didn't and was pretty chilly by the time we got back to the trailer.
Your John Wayne swagger and stiff limbs paid off though Marie.
Ned made light work of the going at St. Mars and we will update you with his success shortly!
