April 2013
Charlie has a bit more practice at Gavray over their new season, freshly painted showjumps and jumps a lovely clear in the 95cms at Briouze. There are fewer horses about and it's serves to chill him out so he wins his first ever prize money!!!
March 2013
Charlie visits the Haras du Pins for a training competition, deja vu, last spring! He's a bit naughty going down to the collecting ring, but doesn't behave like the stallion he was, it's just high jinks.
He jumps clear, really well and I'm pleased to bring the size back down for a confidence boost for him. Rennes was a bit much in size and atmosphere for a first run. And look, he's now such a chill bunny he can share a haynet with a woman afterwards.
February 2013
After the disco party of the indoor show at Rennes, Charlie visits Auvers to take a chill pill and jump some diddy jumps agaian and remind him that parties are dull!
And finally we get the show on the road with a trip to Rennes for sj/xc warm up class, french style indoor arena eventing!
Back to gavray again!!
Arrive at Gavray in a pretty foul mood as I'd wanted to jump at Brecey, but the jumps were all down when we arrived, so hads to abort and drive on.
The sun and charlie's huge improvement make up for it though.
January 2013
December 2012
October 2012
Finally Charlie gets back into action with a few mini jumps at Beny and Brecey.
August 2012
March 2012
Spring has arrived the sun is here at long last!
Charlie practices jumping around animals and trotting round the field like a chubby glossy show pony.
February 2012
Charlie gets to do the two things he loves most at Le Haras du Pin, showing off to girls and filling his face. Sadly the only picture Mick took of him in he warm up for his clear round chopped off his head but it was all rather hairy as this was his first competition in two years and only his second competition ever!!
He was a supere stud over the jumps it was the collecting ring bits that weren't so fun for me but certainly very jolly for him.
LOOK OUT LION D'ANGERS!!
Charlie poses with the real deal fences and then practices over some of his own!
Massive showjumps! Huge drops! Yawning ditches! Knife edge skinnies!
Charlie gets in the swing of things again, he's had a lot of time out due to circumstances outside his control so he has a lot of catching up to do.
DECEMBER 2011
I finally feel my knee is good enough to start riding everyone again so Charlie is back in the picture. One of his first outings is to see the xmas lights in the village of Champ du Boult down the road. I think he fully appreciates it!
SEPTEMBER 2011
September and it's still scorching enough for me to take a bath outside.Actually since we don't have a bath IN the house I decide to take one outside so I can soak my knee in Epsom salts, it really seems to help tremendously with reducing the swelling and pain.
Charlie just can't get over seeing me without my clothes on, he is totally fascinated!
APRIL 2011
Charlie does handy pony or stallion stuff in the garden like trimming round the washing line(making the sheets filthy) and getting his bum scratched.
MARCH 2011
Charlie goes xc schooling for the first time at Dol de Bretagne. He's pretty cool with most stuff, but the big log with drop is jsut something else. Everytime we jump it he has to check out the landing place is still there during take off and flight.
Charlie goes schooling at Gavray to meet some new horses and some new scary fillers and to jump on sand, a lot for one day.
You can see here just how much concentration that takes.
FEBRUARY 2011
Charlie lost a good 6mths last year due to his injury so he's playing catch up now to get back on track for his first competitions.
Charlie gets to meet all our resident fluffy toys that have just come out of hibernation.
MARCH 2010
Charlie takes his first trip out to see other horses at the local riding school, he's a good boy as you can see if a little lazy. He finds riding jolly hard work!
